week 9 # 20

YouTube

I enjoyed Norma playing the piano otherwise I don't like YouTube. The categories are too simple. I would like subcategories. I did a search in the car group, and and it was hard to understand what the video was going to be before clicking on the entry and looking at description.

Each video has different volume settings, and you have to adjust the sound with each clip.

The Thanksgiving video i viewed was in bad taste and I had no idea what i was about to see.

When I receive a YouTube clip from a friend , they are usually funny.

I would not recommend any clip. Sorry.

week 8 # 19

Zohowriter

I can't believe it! Zohowriter made me a wiki with one click. that is cool. It took my user name and made a wiki with the same title.

I viewed the templates, outline, resume, multiple choice test.

I published my document so anyone could view it. I guess anyone with a Zohowriter account.
The document is called library-story.

I emailed the document to my hcpl account.

I have a laptop at home, but i didn't purchase any microsoft programs... I can now use my home computer for more than just internet and paying bills.

week 8 # 18

I enjoyed looking at the cat photos on catster, but this site design is too busy with different fonts, colors. and illustrations.

Yahoo! 360 is easy to use and I like the ability to search by interest. I looked up House M.D. and it gave an organized result with photos, avatars, comments about the TV program and the results were posted in descending date order.

Linkedin required one to register before finding people who worked at a similar company or attended the same school.

week 7 #17

Once Upon A Blog

There once was a library elf who dreamed about his beautiful talented avatar. The avatar could read at the speed of light and listen to a “blogful” of books.

The library elf believed he could make his avatar come alive, if every librarian would tag their favorite websites on del.icio.us, read five feeds a day and visit the iHCPL sandbox wiki.

It will take time for the library elf’s dream to come to fruition. Now it is only a “flickr” on his blog.

week 7 number 16

Using a wiki to communicate with conference attendees is so fabulous. Presenters can post handouts and recommended websites. "There are always enough handouts." It benefits the presenter , because they add the latest information , even an hour before the session.

The host to the conference can post changes in room assignments, let attendees know about last minute "social events" or meetings that didn't get into the conference brochure or wasn't added to the website.
